21/03/2013 - Programme designed to explore the commercial and creative potential of films online

Northern Film & Media, in partnership with Power To The Pixel's Cross-Media Forum, with support from Creative Skillset and Creative England are inviting applications for Create Innovate, a new six-month development programme for film producers. The programme is designed to support four producers/teams as they explore the commercial and creative potential of their feature film story worlds online.

Alongside a mentoring programme there will also be a series of workshops covering a range of topics from cross-media story development to pitching a digital idea. Sessions and mentoring will be led by established industry specialists who have made money from innovative and creative digital apps, games and interactive web projects. They will help producers to develop a digital project to run alongside their feature film that could not only help build audiences and expand the story world but also be an additional revenue stream.

Speakers at the launch event at BALTIC, Gateshead on March 26 include Katie Ellen, Distribution Manager at the British Film Institute, Hilary Perkins, Multiplatform Commissioning Editor for Drama at Channel 4 and Thomas Benski, CEO of Pulse Films.
