Four aces for Memento

A very regular participant in major festivals, the French sales company Memento Films International will again be a star contender at the 66th Cannes Film Festival (from May 15th to 26th, 2013). Its line-up in fact features a contender for the Palme d’Or and three feature films in the Directors' Fortnight.

(article) is the much-awaited first French film (produced by Memento) by Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi. Played by Bérénice Bejo, Tahar Rahim and Ali Mosaffa, the feature film will premiere globally on Friday, May 17th, and should set sparks flying in the Film Market.

Memento also expects to make good deals with three titles selected for the Directors’ Fortnight: Blue Ruin by American director Jeremy Saunier, We Are What We Are by his compatriot Jim Mickle (co-financed by Memento and a remake of the Mexican horror film Somos Lo Que Hay), and the Singapore production Ilo Ilo by Anthony Chen.

The team directed by Emilie Georges and managed by Tanja Meissner will also be betting on market premieres, especially of Chasing The Wind by Norwegian director Rune Denstad Langlo, the timeless French detective movie Back in Crime by Germinal Alvarez (article) and the American film Short Term 12 by Destin Cretton.
