Pyramide places its bets on Wakolda and Les Apaches

The French sales company Pyramide International will arrive at the Film Market of the 66th Cannes Film Festival (from May 15th to 26th, 2013) with a line-up which includes two titles in the selection. The team directed by Eric Lagesse and managed by Lucero Garzon will be negotiating in particular for Wakolda [+see also:

on the Croisette in 2007) tells the story of the encounter in 1960 in Patagonia of an Argentinian family and a German physicist who is in fact one of the greatest criminals of all time: the sinister Nazi doctor, Josef Mengele. The cast features Natalia Oreiro, Alex Brendemühl, Diego Peretti and Elena Roger.

by Thierry de Peretti (article). This first feature film, to be unveiled in the Directors’ Fortnight, is announced as a cruel and highly accurate portrait of Corsica, and in particular of its youth. 

At the film market, Pyramide will screen premieres of the comedy 60 Going on 12 by Frédéric Proust (with François Berleand, Patrick Chesnais, Anne Consigny and Florence Thomassin), Youth by Justine Malle and Conquerors by Xabi Molia (article - with Denis Podalydès and Mathieu Demy).

The line-up also features three films in post-production. Giraffada by Rani Massalha recounts the mishaps of a father and son who attempt to steal a giraffe from an Israeli zoo and bring it back to Palestinian territory (with Saleh Bakri and Roschdy Zem in the cast – handled by the French company Mact Productions with Lumière & Co of Italy and Heimat Films of Germany).

Pyramide will also pre-sell Miss and the Doctors by Axelle Ropert (article – with Laurent Stocker, Cédric Kahn and Louise Bourgoin in the cast).
