Rezo, Gaumont and Memento back in the fray

- A Russian film with Ralph Fiennes for Rezo, Gemma Bovery for Gaumont, and very promising sales for Memento with The Past

On the third day of the Film Market at the 66th Cannes Film Festival, announcements are still being made of new projects and sales which are coming to fruition for French companies plying their wares on the Croisette.

Rezo Films will coproduce, distribute in France and handle  international sales of Two Women by Russian director Vera Glagoleva, an adaptation of a play by Turgenev which can count on English actor Ralph Fiennes and French actress Sylvie Testud to head the bill (photo). The delegate production is Russian, and the British company Soda Pictures will also be coproducers.

Gaumont will coproduce, distribute in France and handle international sales of the next feature film by Anne Fontaine based on the comic strip Gemma Bovery. The cast features British actress Gemma Arterton (Tamara Drewe) and Fabrice Luchini (In the House [+see also:

by Asghar Farhadi (review) on today's competition programme in Cannes, Memento Films International has revealed an impressive array of pre-sales. About 20 territories have already signed on the dotted line, including Poland (Kino Swiat), the Benelux (Cinéart), Switzerland (Frenetic), Portugal (Alambique), Greece (Seven Group), South Korea, Hong Kong, Latin America and Australia.

Finally, it's worth mentioning that Les Films du Trésor is launching the Electrik Films label, whose first project will be Money Is Money by Gela Babluani (13 Tzameti), to be filmed in Detroit at the end of 2013.
