by Cambodian director Rithy Panh last night won the Certain Regard Prize at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. A French production signed CDP & Bophana Production, the documentary, whose international sales are being handled by Films Distribution, won the favours of the jury presided by Thomas Vinterberg of Denmark.

by French director Alain Guiraudie (review), produced by Les Films du Worso and sold internationally by Les Films du Losange which will also handle its release in French theatres on June 12th.

The Jury Prize was attributed to Omar by Palestinian director Hany Abu-Assad, produced by the German company Zbros, with sales handled by The Match Factory.

The Avenir Prize was awarded to Fruitvale Station by American director Ryan Coogler, already victorious at the Sundance Festival, and the Certain Talent Prize went to the entire cast of the Mexican film La Jaula de Oro, directed by Diego Quemada-Diez (with international sales handled by the German company Films Boutique).
