The same amount is to be given to the latest Assayas film, Sils Maria, a French German coproduction with Juliette BinocheKristen Steward and Daniel Brühl. Produced by Pallas Film GmbH and coproduced by CG Cinéma SA, it retraces the life of actress Maria Enders who knew theatrical success at the age of 18 for her work on “Maloja Snake”, to which she remained attached her entire life.

Vergine giurata by Laura Bispuri was allocated €198,000. The film was recently presented at the Cannes film festival’s Cinéfondation. Produced by Vivo Film and coproduced with Colorado Film Production for Italy, Bord Cadre Films for Switzerland, Arizona Productions for France and Erafilm SH.P.K for Albania, the film tells the story of women living in the mountains of Albania, respecting the ancient laws of Kanun. The film will be shot in Bolzano and its surroundings and will once more star Alba Rohrwacher.

Another important foreign production is Swedish Eyeworks Film & Tv Drama AB, towards which BLS has committed €400,000 for Sune on Roadtrip by director Hannes Holm. The film is a comedy about the Andersson couple who would like to bring their children to South Tyrol to show them where they spent their romantic honeymoon. Their holiday will be fraught with surprises.

Documentary film series Vier Jahreszeiten also received funding. The project is being financed by German Gebrueder Beetz Filmproduktion GmbH & Co. KG. Other beneficiaries include Ignaz Friedman - world citizen by Peter Paul Kainrath, produced by South Tyrol-based Mediaart Production Coop Gen.m.b.H, Clash! by Domenico Distillo, which is in a pre-production phase and is being produced by Helios in Bolzano, and Launig - Dala löna by Nicoletta Nesler and Marilisa Piga, produced by Italian Pierrot and Rosa Srl.
