The Son's Plateau victory

by Belgian filmmaking duo, the brothers Dardenne, won the major Joseph Plateau 2001-2002 awards on Saturday 29 March. Organised for the first time in Brussels by the International Film Festival of Flanders-Gand with support from VAF, VRT-TV1, state broadcaster RTBF and SABAM, 5000 industry operators voted The Son best film of the year, with the best director crown going to Luc and Jean-Paul Dardennes while Olivier Gourmet, the star of The Son, won best actor.
Antje De Boeck ( Hop by Dominique Standaert) and Els Dottermans ( Meisje – A Girl by Dorothée Van den Berghe) shared the best actress Plateau Award and best musical score was also a tie between Daan for Meisje and Vincent D’Hondt for Hop.
