Swedish director Staffan Lindberg (photo) and StellaNova Film producer Lena Rehnberg have started the principal photography for the romantic comedy Last Chance (working title) in Bohuslän on the Swedish West Coast. The shooting should end in Stockholm later this summer. Last Chance will be their third production together after A Midsummer Night’s Party (2009) and, most recently, Once Upon a Time in Phuket [+see also:

Scripted with Jimmy Lagnefors, Lindberg’s third feature follows a doctor, Veronika, who falls head over heels for Mike, the carpenter reconstructing her kitchen in her large home in Stockholm’s Östermalm. The sawdust has barely subsided when they first kiss. They are both divorced, but their teenage children, Fanny and Alexander, find it difficult to accept their relationship.

Veronika thinks a summer holiday for all of them with her wealthy parents on the West Coast will do the trick. But Mike does not feel comfortable in this rather posh world, and when his dysfunctional family and a sexually liberated neighbour start to meddle, there is no end to the complications of merging two families from different backgrounds into one.

Swedish actor David Hellenius, also in Once Upon a Time in Phuket, plays his first lead on the screen as the carpenter, while Izabella Scorupco is cast as Veronika, her first role in a comedy. She was last seen in Among Us [+see also:
