Danish director Mikkel Nørgaard will commence principal photography for the second thriller in the Jussi Adler-Olsen franchise on September 23, in Northern Germany and later in Copenhagen, again with Danish actor Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Sweden’s Fares Fares (photo) in the leads – before The Keeper of Lost Causes is domestically released on October 3 through Nordisk Film Biograf distribution.

The otherwise closed case which lands on Mørck’s table deals with the brutal murder of brother-and-sister twins in 1994. One of the suspects, part of a group of privileged boarding-school students, confessed and was convicted. But when he reopens the files, it becomes clear that all is not what it seems – they lead him to Kimmie, a woman living in the streets, stealing to survive. Apparently Mørck and Assad are not the only ones looking for her.
