Currently in filming, the film depicts the actions of the members of the “Small Sabotage” movement during the German occupation during the Second World War. While the three main roles were given to new faces Tomasz Zietek, Marcel Sabat and Kamil Szeptycki, the rest of the cast includes known Polish actors: Danuta Stenka, Artur Zmijewski, Andrzej Chyra, Marian Dziedziel, Olgierd Lukaszewicz, Krzysztof Globisz and Wojciech Zielinski.

Based on the cult novel of the same name by Aleksander Kaminski, the film’s screenplay tells the story of three scout friends, who graduated from the Warsaw Lycée, whose ambitious plans for the future are interrupted by the dramatic events of September 1939. The boys are confronted with a difficult choice: sticking to a safe behaviour or exposing themselves to the risk of losing their lives by engaging in the struggle for the honour and liberty of their nation. They chose to become soldiers.

Produced by Monolith Films, Kamienie na szaniec benefits from the presence of maestro DoP Pawel Edelman (nominated for the Oscar in 2003 for his work on The Pianist). The Polish release is scheduled for March 2014.
