(photo) is heading straight for the charts in Denmark - so far it has sold 32,000 tickets for sneak previews ahead of its October 3 domestic premiere through Nordisk Film Biografdistribution.

Keeper of Lost Causes has already exceeded Agent 007-James Bond: Skyfall, which also sold 32,000 admissions before the official opening, and it is closing in on the all-time record, Swedish director Daniel Alfredson's Millennium 2: The Girl Who Played With Fire (2009), which reached 50,000.

"The film is already on the map with Danish cinema audiences - presales indicate it has the qualities of a blockbuster," said managing director Jan Lehmann, of Nordisk. Screened on the Piazza Grande to an 8,000 audience during the Locarno International Film Festival, Nørgaard's second feature will now unspool at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, the largest showcase in Asia (October 3-12).

Meanwhile Nørgaard is about to commence principal photography for the sequel of the franchise, The Absent One, on September 23, again with Danish actor Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Sweden's Fares Fares in the leads as deputy detective superintendent Carl Mørck and his assistant Assad, of Department Q (for "cases of special focus").

The cast will be joined by Danish actors Pilou Asbæk, (Christoffer Boe's Toronto entry, Sex, Drugs and Taxation [+see also:

, which has taken 150,000 domestic admissions since August 29), and David Dencik (who - after a couple of international features, ao War Horse, the US version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy [+see also:
