Five feature film projects were selected during the 4th session 2013 of the first college of the advance on receipts of the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC). Amongst them, the comedy Wonders in the Suburbs [+see also:

film profile] by Jeanne Balibar (a well known actress, member of the 2008 Cannes Film Festival Jury, soon in Grace de Monaco by Olivier Dahan and Nuits d'été by Mario Fanfani) stands out. Managed by Martine Marignac for Pierre Grise Productions, filming should begin in May-June 2014.
An advance as well for Le front du Wakhan by Clément Cogitore. Managed by Jean-Christophe Reymond for Kazak Productions, this project whose screenplay was written by the director with Thomas Bidegain focuses on a group of French soldiers in Afghanistan who progressively and mysteriously lose control over a valley, which was supposed to be quiet. It is worth noting that this project was already selected by the TorinoFilmLab and the Ateliers d'Angers.
The CNC will also back Crash Test Aglaé by Eric Gravel (a Nicolas Sanfaute production for Novoprod), Je suis un soldat by Laurent Larivière (Dominique Besnehard for Mon Voisin Productions – which also went through the Ateliers d'Angers – read the news) and Zugzwang [+see also:
