Nominated for the César 2001 for Best First Film with Stand-by which owed a Best Actress of the Year award to Dominique Blanc, Roch Stéphanik stands out with his second opus, Mon fils, ma bataille, amongst the seven feature film projects selected by the 4th session of the Fund for the support of the cinematographic and audiovisual industries of the Ile-de-France region.

Written by Roch Stéphanik and Yves Sarda, the screenplay of Mon fils, ma bataille focuses on Vincent with whom his partner Laura suddenly breaks up. The latter takes their five-year-old son, hoping to get custody. A psychological and judicial battle, pushed to the limit and made worse by third parties, begins between Vincent and Laura, who behave like the worst enemies, with the child caught in the middle.
