Guédiguian on-set on June

- Mon père est ingénieur goes into production in mid-June and stars Ariane Ascaride, Jean-Pierre Darroussin and Gérard Meylan

Pre-production work is currently underway on French director Robert Guédiguian's eleventh feature film, Mon père est ingénieur which is scheduled to go into production on 16 June on location in Marseille.
The cast includes his favourite trio of actors : Ariane Ascaride, Jean-Pierre Darroussin and Gérard Meylan and Guédiguian co-wrote the screenplay with his habitual writing partner, Jean-Louis Milesi. To date they have made six films together. Guédiguian consolidated his long-standing relationship with production company, Agat Films & Cie, not surprising since Guédiguian also happens to be one of the seven producer-founders of this company whose films are usually distributed by Diaphana.
Guédiguian is hopeful that Mon père est un ingénieur will perform as well, if not better, than his last film, Marie-Jo et ses deux amours, which was selected for Cannes 2002 and did good box office business with 570,000 tickets sold, not to mention his hugely successful 1997 hit, Marius et Jeannette, which was seen by over 2.5 million French filmgoers.
