Norwegian cinema admissions last year will exceed 11.7 million – a 4% decrease when compared to 2012, but close to the average of the last 10 years, according to the Norwegian cinema association, Film & Kino. The local market share is estimated at 23%, that is 29% better than the previous year.

As of December 26, 2013, total attendance amounted to 11,420,772 admissions (including 2,624,037 for local titles). The result is partly due to strong releases towards the end of the year – December was the strongest month since 1999 (when Film & Kino started to store statistics electronically).
