EuroCinema in Lecce

- Joaquim Sapinho wins the Golden Olive in Lecce for Mulher Policia as does the Swedish screenplay for The Reunion while Maria Bonnevie is best actress for Dina

Portugal’s Joaquin Sapinho won the Golden Olive Award at the 4th edition of the Festival of European Cinema of Lecce, southern Italy. The film was co-produced by Portugal, Spain, France and Brazil and is set in a town in north Portugal where a young woman and mother try to come to terms with the loss of her husband.
This year's jury included director Unni Straume, Claudia Landsberger (the president of Holland Film and European Film Promotion), Italian film director Alessandro Piva and actress Barbora Bobulova and was presided over by Gianni Massaro (the president of Anica). Sweden’s Mans Herngren and Hannes Holm won the best screenplay award for The Riunion and its star, Bjorn Kjellman, took home the best actor nod. Best actress went to Maria Bonnevie for I am Dina [+see also:

which also won the critics’ Fipresci Award. Amel Taci received a special mention for Paule and Julia.
