While Doctor Proctor is yet to unveil his invention of a fart powder strong enough to send people into outer space – in Norwegian director Arild Fröhlich’s Doctor Proctor’s Fart Powder, which Nordisk Film Distribusjon will premiere on March 7 – author Jo Nesbø’s children’s book character is ready for new adventures.

Norwegian producers Cornelia Boysen and Synnøve Hørsdal, of Maipo Film, will shortly start principal photography for Doctor Proctor’s Time Tub – again scripted by Johan Bogaeus – following the doctor’s attempts to stop the wedding of his beloved Juliette, including a voyage through time in his special bathtub. Doctor Proctor 2 is one of seven new features that the Norwegian Film Institute has supported with €7.7 million of production funding.

, set on the bottom of the North Sea, Erik Skjoldbjærg returns to dry land for Pyromaniac, which is about an arsonist in a small Norwegian village. Written by Bjørn Olaf Johannesen and based on the novel by Gaute Heivoll, Skjoldbjærg’s sixth movie will star Aksel Hennie (also in Pioneer) and be produced by Edward A. Dreyer for Pravda Film.

,with French actress Juliette Binoche in the lead, is preparing a historical drama set after Nazi Germany’s invasion of Norway on April 9 1940. Scripted by Jan Trygve Røyneland and Harald Rosenløw Eeg, The King’s Choice describes “the real events which turned a brave man into the people’s king”. Finn Gjerdrum and Stein B. Kvae will produce for Paradox.
