and The Broken Circle Breakdown, in order to tell a story based on his own experiences, or rather those of his father, who set up and then had to sell a famous bar in Ghent. It is a story of the rise and fall of two brothers who have nothing in common but who join forces to take up the reins of the Belgica, a microcosmic bar in which minor and major human comedies are played out, from racism and camaraderie to fraternity and rivalry. Producing the film is faithful collaborator Menuet, as well as Pyramide Productions (France) and Topkapi (Netherlands). Match Factory will handle international sales for the movie, which should start filming in autumn, just in time to make it to Cannes.
