After The Killing, Borgen and The Legacy comes Follow the Money, from DR
The Legacy is proving to be very successful for pubcaster DR

Currently enjoying the success of The Legacy, the latest TV drama initiative about to round off its first season in Denmark, the Danish pubcaster DR is preparing to shoot its next 10-part thriller series, Follow the Money, which will reach the small screen in September 2015.

Directed by Swedish actress-director Pernilla August, The Legacy – a family drama following the four adult children of an internationally renowned Danish artist, who meet after her death at her countryside mansion on the island of Funen to take stock of her legacy – recently won the FIPA d’Or for Best TV Series and Best Original Screenplay (Maya Ilsøe) at the 27th Biarritz International Festival of Audiovisual Programmes.

Starring Trine Dyrholm, Jesper Christensen, Marie Bach Hansen, Carsten Bjørnlund and Mikkel Bo Følsgaard, The Legacy has so far been licensed to 12 territories, including the UK (Sky Arts, via Arrow Films), Germany, France, Benelux and Mexico, while head of DR International Sales Helene Aurø is negotiating contracts for several other countries. DR will shoot the second season from April in Funen, and at the same time, Aurø will begin sales for it at the MIPTV Market in Cannes from 7-10 April.

Following the family drama – and The Killing, Borgen and The Bridge – DR Drama will launch a drama thriller set in the world of finance, Follow the Money, which will start filming its first two seasons in April. The first season will be aired next autumn and the second in the autumn of 2016.

Danish actor Thomas Bo Larsen has been signed up for one of the four leads. “He will be sort of a hero, seeking justice in a universe where there isn’t any,” according to producer Anders Toft Andersen. Danish screenwriter Jeppe Gjervig Gram (Borgen) and award-winning director Per Fly (most recently Waltz for Monica [+see also:
