Film Center Serbia splits €1.7 million among ten feature projects

Film Center Serbia has announced the results of its competition for the funding of film projects in the categories of feature fiction, documentary, animated, experimental and short films, as well as in the categories of project development and script development.

Among the fiction feature films, the highest amount was allotted to Miloš Radović's Train Driver’s Secret [+see also:

. The writer-director's third feature, produced by Zillion Film, received €242,563.

€207,913 is going to The Man Who Defended Gavrilo Princip by writer-director Srdjan Koljević, known for being the writer of Srdan Golubović's Circles [+see also:

, as well as the director of The Woman with a Broken Nose [+see also:

. The project is being produced by Košutnjak Film.

Miroslav Momčilović, a writer-director best known internationally for The Death of a Man in the Balkans [+see also:

, received €188,416 for Stinking Fairytale, produced through Brigada.

by director Dejan Zečević and writer Djordje Milosavljević, who most recently collaborated on The Enemy [+see also:

, was given €168,973.

Director Oleg Novković and writer Milena Marković, whose previous film was the acclaimed White White World [+see also:

, received €168,973 for Others, which is being produced by West End Productions.

Out of the Woods, the second feature by director Ivan Stefanović (When Love Is Late), written by Vladislava Vojnović and produced by Luks Film, got €173,005.

Southern Wind by Miloš Avramović (Tailor's Secret), co-written with Petar Mihajlović and produced by Eye to Eye, received €166,516.

For the first time, the sub-category of low-budget film has been introduced into the funding scheme, bringing €100,521 to Ederlezi Rising by first-time director Lazar Bodroža and writer Dimitrije Vojnov (Montevideo, Skinning), produced through Mir Media Group.

In the sub-category of first feature, €150,520 was allotted to Slobodan Obradović's Pet solitera (which translates literally as Five High-Rise Buildings), written by Rastko Petrović and produced by Kino Kamera.

In the animated-film category, the only feature-length project is Technotise: Prophet 1.0, Aleksa Gajić's follow-up to his acclaimed Edit and I, which received €95,174. It is being produced by Taramount Film.

An additional €62,979 has been allotted to seven animated shorts.

A further €228,259 has been split between six features, two short documentaries and one mid-length one, including new films by Boris Mitić (Pretty Diana), Mladen Matičević (How to Become a Hero) and Mladen Djordjević (Life and Death of a Porn Gang).
