English actor, Clive Owen, is to play the lead in the US/Irish co-production entitled King Arthur, set to start shooting on 23 June for 90 days in and around Dublin and Wicklow.
The epic movie will be directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) with Sławomir Idziak as director of photgraphy. The project is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Productions for Walt Disney with Morgan O’Sullivan (World 2000) as the Irish co-producer.
O’Sullivan set up World 2000 in 1994 to develop, produce and distribute feature and TV entertainment for the global market. Based at Ardmore Studios, the company also has access to the tax incentives under the Republic of Ireland’s Section 481 and has secured financing and production services for numerous productions, including Braveheart, Moll Flanders, Reign of Fire and Angela’s Ashes.
Other recent films co-produced by O’Sullivan for World 2000 include the Miramax production, Ella Enchanted, directed by Tommy O’Haver with Anne Hathaway (The Princess Diaries), Joanna Lumley and Patrick Bergin.
