The Wonders, an autobiographical film on the family of Italian director Alice Rohrwacher, is an Italian Swiss German co-production by producer Tiziana Soudani (Amka Films Productions). The main character (played by Alba Rohrwacher, Alice’s sister) is supported by Bern-native actress Sabine Timoteo, from L’Amour, l’Argent, l’Amour by Philip Gröning – a role, which in 2000 earned her a golden Quartz at the Swiss cinema awards. Clouds of Sils Maria is a co-production between France, Germany and Switzerland by Olivier Assayas, a film partly shot at Sils Maria in the Graunbunden canton in Switzerland. The last feature film by the French director was co-produced by CAB Productions (Jean-Louis Porchet / Gérard Ruey). Actor Gilles Tschudi played next to Kristen Stewart and Juliette Binoche.

Short En août, by young director Jenna Hasse (double nationality of Portuguese and French) was selected for Directors’ Fortnight. Her debut tells the story of the last moments between a father and his daughter before he leaves home. The young Swiss director was always fascinated by the way in which children perceive reality. En août was filmed in Ovronnaz in the canton of Valais and was produced by Swiss production company Galão com Açúcar.

In the official selection, and the object of a special screening, the Cannes festival will screen feature film Ponts de Sarajevo [+see also:
