Goltzius by Greenaway in theatres with Lo Scrittoio and Maremosso

Lo Scrittoio and Maremosso – active in the production, distribution and promotion of quality cinema and cultural products – are bringing the latest film by Peter Greenaway, Goltzius and the Pelican Company [+see also:

film profile], to theatres. The film was shown at the 7th edition of the Rome International Film Festival in the section Cinema XXI and is currently in British cinemas. From 30 September the movie will be on the bill in Italy's most prestigious theatres and subsequently on show in art-house cinemas. Collaborating to date are CRT Milano, Teatro Argentina in Rome and Teatro Bellini in Naples, all of which have enthusiastically supported the project.
An innovative and experimental distribution model, devised and carried out by two young and dynamic Milanese realities, Cinzia Masòtina, screenwriter and project development manager at Lo Scrittoio: "at a time in which Italian cinema distribution dynamics and its stakeholders are reflecting on the need for new spaces, broadcasting models and new audiences – I'm thinking of multiprogramming and the idea of the cinema theatre as a renewed gathering place for society – one couldn't possibly ignore such an unusual and colossal work, 'it had to be' offered to the Italian public. This is the challenge that Lo Scrittoio has taken on: to experiment with a non-conventional distribution model that facilitates creativity in both form and content.”

The film will be offered in its original version with Italian subtitles, a decision which ensures that the expressive power of the film is not undermined in any way and which promotes the construction of Greenway's image and vision.
