There are non-stop, and very diverse, film shoots getting under way in (French-speaking) Belgium this summer. Two projects have already wrapped since May: Un homme à la mer [+see also:

, the third film by Guillaume and Stéphane Malandrin, who struck up a collaboration with Versus for the production, and who have just finished the shoot in Canada. Since the beginning of July, Jaco Van Dormael and his crew have set up shop in Brussels for the summer, for the shoot of Le Tout Nouveau Testament (starring Benoît Poelvoorde, Catherine Deneuve and Yolande Moreau), concocting some exquisitely surreal sights, such as a totally naked Dominique Abel racing down the deserted streets of the Belgian capital as he plays none other than Adam, the first man.

Another upcoming shoot is Baden Baden (formerly Seule comme une baignoire) by the young director Rachel Lang, who studied at the IAD and is making her first steps into feature films together with her favourite character, Ana, who is still being played by Salomé Richard. She is joined by other talents including Zabou Breitman and Claude Gensac. The film is produced by Tarantula and ChevalDeuxTrois.

Meanwhile, over the course of the summer, Iota Production will be kicking off the shoots for two features: Bee Lucky [+see also:

, the debut film by Guillaume Senez. These are two rite-of-passage titles about when youth gets turned upside down, tinged with runaway attempts, young love, child’s play and grown-ups’ problems. Bee Lucky will feature a cast including Arthus Buyssens (who appeared in Arrest Me [+see also:

). Hors Cadre will reportedly star two young newcomers.

Lastly, Antoine Cuypers should also be starting filming for his feature debut, Préjudice, at the end of the month, starring Nathalie Baye and Arno (who has not been seen on the silver screen since I Always Wanted to be a Gangster [+see also:

), among others. The film is produced by Benoît Roland, formerly of Entre Chien et Loup, together with his new outfit, Wrong Men. The movie is co-produced by Lucil Film in Luxembourg and the Netherlands’ CTM Pictures.
