Produced by Patrik Andersson and Frida Bargo for B-Reel, with Film i Väst, Swedish pubcaster SVT, Norway’s Motlys and Denmark’s Nimbus Film, The Serious Game has been filmed twice before for the big screen: in 1945 by Swedish director Rune Carlsten and in 1977 by Norwegian filmmaker Anja Breien (Games of Love and Loneliness). The August-Scherfig interpretation has been scheduled for a spring 2016 release through Nordisk Film.
