Aside from the special mention that made a clean sweep in the main competition, Finnish cinema came to the fore thanks to Once I Dreamt of Life by Jukka Kärkkäinen and Sini Liimatainen, which won the Documentary Film Prize, and The Disciple [+see also:

by Ulrika Bengts,  jury favourite in the Children's and Youth Films competition, while in this section, the children's jury voted for The Boy with the Golden Pants by Ella Lemhagen (Sweden). 

Director of Nordic Film Days, Christian Modersbach, and artistic director Linde Fröhlich were delighted with the success of this edition: in five days, the event welcomed a record number of 29,000 viewers to a record number of 172 films. Theatres were often full to bursting point, and debates and events were very lively. In addition to the 201 director guests, Lübeck also welcomed 780 industry professionals and members of the press.
