Currently operating at the American Film Market in Santa Monica, Los Angeles (5-12 November), Danish international sales agency TrustNordisk has licensed the North American rights for Danish director Anders Morgenthaler’s drama I Am Here [+see also:

Produced by Marie Gade Denessen and Julie Lind-Holm for Denmark’s Zentropa Entertainments, Maria Köpf for Zentropa Berlin, and Jamila Wenske and Sol Bondy for Germany’s One Two Films, the English-language feature stars Oscar-winning US actress Kim Basinger as a successful business executive struggling to fulfil her greatest wish: to bring a child into the world, against her doctor’s advice – she is too old.
“We are convinced it will be well received by critics and audiences alike,” said Meyer Shwarzstein, president of Brainstorm Media. Also scripted by Morgenthaler, and co-starring Sweden’s Peter Stormare, Canada’s Jordan Prentice and Germany’s Sebastian Schipper, I Am Here will be launched domestically on 9 January by Nordisk Film Biografdistribution.

film profile] – the Oscar-winning writer’s first film as a director in ten years – signing contracts for the Benelux (Imagine), the Czech Republic/Slovakia (Film Europe) and Hungary (Vertigo).
Starring Mads Mikkelsen, David Dencik, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Nicolas Bro and Søren Malling, Jensen’s fourth directorial effort has been produced by Tivi and Kim Magnusson, for Denmark’s M&M Productions, and co-produced with Germany’s Studio Babelsberg and DCM.
The black comedy, about two outcast brothers who reunite with their relatives only to learn a cruel truth about themselves and their family, will be released by Walt Disney Denmark on 5 February, while the German premiere (via DCM) has been scheduled for 12 March.
