The Italian title Chlorine, by Lamberto Sanfelice, is among the films that have been selected in the World Cinema Dramatic section of the Sundance Film Festival 2015, which will take place in Park City (Utah) from 22 January-1 February.

The movie chosen by the independent film gathering founded by Robert Redford is written by Elisa Amoruso and Sanfelice himself, and is his feature debut. The main character, Jenny (Sara Serraiocco, Salvo [+see also:

), is a 17-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a synchronised swimmer, but she is forced to give up on her ambitions temporarily to take care of her ailing father and younger brother. Joining Serraiocco in the cast are Ivan Franek, Giorgio Colangeli, Anatol Sassi, Piera Degli Esposti and Andrea Vergoni.

Chlorine is produced by Ginevra Elkann, of Asmara Films, together with Damiano Ticconi, of Ang Film, who both also backed Lamberto Sanfelice’s first short film, Il fischietto.
