The schedule of the 50th edition of the Solothurn Film Festival (22-29 January), the leading festival for Swiss cinema, was made public yesterday in Zurich. Its director, Seraina Rohrer, was prompt in highlighting her satisfaction with being able to host a significant number of debut works by young directors this year; proof that this important film festival hasn't lost its innovative and revolutionary spirit. The Panorama Suisse section, a genuine window for Swiss cinema, represents the backbone of a festival that is simultaneously retrospective and an annual selection of Swiss productions (not limited by genre or duration). 184 films selected in this important section, including 23 world premieres and 9 Swiss premieres.
