More than €9 million over six days (€9,346,000) for Si accettano miracoli, by and starring Alessandro Siani; €12,693,000 over four weeks for Il ricco, il povero e il maggiordomo, starring Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo; and almost €6 million (€5,885,000) over three weeks for Un Natale stupefacente by Volfango De Biasi, starring Lillo and Greg. Altogether, the three Christmas comedies released by 01 Distribution, Medusa and Filmauro, respectively, have taken almost €28 million (data courtesy of Cinetel, updated on 6 January). Though Il ricco, il povero e il maggiordomo turned out to be the most-seen film of the 2014 festive period (with its 1.84 million viewers, the comedy outpaced the third instalment of The Hobbit, which drew in audiences of 1,695,940) and is this year's best-performing Italian film at the box office, surpassing Luca Miniero's Un boss in salotto [+see also:

, which up until three days ago had taken €12,308,185, the new film by Siani (who was already crowned king of the box office in 2013 with Il principe abusivo [+see also:

) looks set to do even better: on 6 January, the day on which the Christmas holidays came to a close, Si accettano miracoli still stood firmly in first place at the box office with more than €1.2 million in takings, surpassing the eagerly awaited American Sniper by Clint Eastwood (Warner), which took €1.1 million that same day (and raked in a total of €7,888,000 over six days), and The Imitation Game [+see also:

(Videa), starring Benedict Cumberbatch, with its €379,000.

If we look at the total figures for the festive period, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is still in first place in terms of takings – with €13,056,598 – thanks to the higher price charged for 3D. Lastly, Big Hero 6 also towers above the rest, with total takings of €8,277,000 as of 6 January, as does David Fincher's Gone Girl, with its roughly €6.5 million.
