04/02/2015 - While Eisenstein in Guanajuato vies for a Golden Bear, Greenaway is again teaming up with Dutch producer Kees Kasander for several forthcoming projects

Netherlands-based British director Peter Greenaway has several new projects in development, and he is again teaming up with Dutch producer Kees Kasander, of Amsterdam- and London-based outfit Cinatura.

Their new collaboration is entitled Walking to Paris, a biopic focused on Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi, who at the age of 28 walked across Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and France. Principal photography is expected to begin in March in Switzerland. Kasander is partnering with co-producers Catherine Dussart (CDP – France), Gabi Antal (Abis Studio – Romania) and Susann Rudlinger (Cobra Film – Switzerland).

But Walking to Paris is just one of several projects that the prolific British director, who once declared that cinema was dead, currently has in mind. Other upcoming projects include Four Storms and Two Babies, co-produced with Denmark’s Beofilm; Bosch, a biopic on Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch; Food for Love, Greenaway’s long-announced take on Death in Venice, featuring the character of Tadzio at the age of 50; and yet another project on Eisenstein, entitled The Eisenstein Handshakes.
