Screen Flanders invests €1,430,000 in seven Belgian and Dutch features

FC De Kampionen 2 is, as its name indicates, the second part of the film adaptation of a very popular Flemish TV series, broadcast for over 20 years. The first part attracted over 720,000 viewers. Kebab Royal is a captivating and ambitious project, a fictional time period in which a somewhat lacklustre Belgian king, Nicolas 1st, sees his fate take a different turn when during an official visit to Turkey, Flanders declares its independence. While a sun storm hits earth and cuts off all means of communication, the king embarks on a Balkan odyssey in order to go save his people. The film is produced by Bo Films, the Belgian directors' company and Unlimited for France.

In return for the €1,430,000 invested by Screen Flanders, these seven projects will have to account for expenses in the Flemish Region for a total amount of 6.9 million euro. The funding allocated to each project varies from €50,000 to €400,000. For the year 2015 two sessions have been confirmed to date with a total support budget of 3.5 million euro. The first session will close today.
