Appointment in Riccione with the Giornate Estive di Cinema
- The event during which the biggest distribution companies premiere films for the upcoming season, among others, will be held from 30 June to 3 July
The Ciné - Giornate Estive di Cinema (lit. summer days of cinema), is back in Riccione from 30 June to 3 July 2015. This unmissable summer event for the Italian film industry is promoted and supported by ANICA (The Italian Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Multimedia Industries) in collaboration with members of ANEC (The Italian Association of Exhibitors) and ANEM, and this year celebrates its 5th birthday.
The conventions for distribution companies, which will premiere films for the upcoming season, will kick off on Wednesday 1 July with 01 Distribution, Distribuzione Indipendente, Eagle Pictures, Bim, Koch Media and 20th Century Fox; on Thursday 2 July it will be the turn of Universal, I Wonder Pictures, Academy Two, Videa, Warner Bros, M2 Pictures, Lucky Red and Adler, and rounding things off on Friday 3 July will be Walt Disney, Good Films, Notorious, Microcinema and Medusa.
As well as the conventions, Ciné has organised, starting on Tuesday 30 June, professional workshops and meetings on the film industry, including the conference “Is this where the party is? Italy, France, Spain and the United Kingdom compared”, which will be attended by Jaime Tarrazón, the vice-president of Unic (International Union of Cinemas), and a focus on the five-year period 2009 -2014, analysing genres and films that were popular with audiences during the period, on Wednesday morning.
Once again this year, Ciné’s programme features a series of events for the public, with premieres and meetings. Things get underway on Tuesday 30 June with the film L'universale (lit. The Universale), a comedy which tells the story of the Universale cinema in 1970s Florence (under the distribution of Good Films); the touching You’re Not You, which tells the extraordinary story of a friendship between two women, starring Hilary Swank and Emmy Rossum (under the distribution of Koch Media); and the documentary from I Wonder Pictures, Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans. film profile], the latest film of visionary director Jaco Van Dormael (I Wonder Pictures) will be premiered, and on the same day, the eagerly awaited premiere of Terminator Genisys from Universal Pictures will be shown, with a special screening (laser projection from Cinemeccanica for a more vivid, bright image in 3D and Xpand) for industry operators. The programme of premieres will conclude on Friday 3 July with a special screening of The Third Man by Carol Reed, which is being brought back to the big screen in a version that has been remastered in 4k by the Bologna film library.
To coincide with the event, for six days starting from Saturday 27 June, Piazzale Ceccarini will be transformed into an open-air cinema which will host events and premieres of films such as Annie a comedy distributed by Warner Bros. starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, and Living Is Easy With Eyes Closed [+see also:
