In 1970s Boston, FBI agent John Connolly (Edgerton) convinces Irish gangster Jimmy “Whitey” Bulger (Depp) to collaborate with the FBI to bring down their common enemy: the Italian mafia. The film tells the story of this unusual alliance, which soon deteriorates, allowing Whitey to evade the law, consolidate power and become one of the most ruthless and dangerous gangsters in the history of Boston.

Black Mass, produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, will be screened on the Lido on Friday 4 September in the Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema. The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. all over the world starting from 18 September, and is due to be released in Italian theatres on 1 October 2015.
