In Germany, 1,170 exhibition companies are currently running 1,632 cinemas. “Our industry has been waiting for a long time for such great results,” stated FFA president Peter Dinges. “In the first six months, cinema celebrated an impressive comeback.” Various US blockbusters, but also several German movies, led to this positive outcome, and the great result also reflects the courage and optimism of the exhibitors. “It is the first time in the last decade that the number of cinemas is growing again,” underlined Dinges, who has high hopes that 2015 will become a strong year for the cinemas.
