Studio Canal produces Italians

Italy and France are to work together on three feature films, one of which, Dillo con parole mie by Daniele Luchetti is being presented at this year's Cannes Market.
Through their new Italian branch, StudioCanal Urania the French-based StudioCanal will also produce Luchetti’s next film which is based on “Gabriel’s Gift” by Anglo-Pakistani writer Hanif Kureishi. The third film of the package is based on “Arrivederci amore ciao” by Italian writer Massimo Carlotto and will be directed by Michele Soavi.
Studio Canal producer, Conchita Airoldi spoke of growing international interest for Italian films and especially Italian creativity and ideas. She said she had received numerous enquiries from Americans for the rights to a US remake of Dillo con parole mie. The film is scheduled for release in France shortly, adn will also take part in a review of Italian cinema at New York’s Lincoln Centre in June.
