As of 15 May, there are two new companies on the Belgian film panorama: Marmont Film Financing and Marmont Film Production. They are managed by independent production and finance experts, Michel Houdmont, Marc Noyons and Hans Klok, assisted by three advisors on legal and fiscal issues: Eric Verbaere, Herman Croux and Wilfried d'Haese. The group intends to invest in quality co-productions with other Belgian or European producers, making it easier to find financing and produce European products while benefiting from the new tax-shelter law in force in Belgium. After detailed analysis of all aspects, Marmont Film Production will guarantee up to 30 per cent of the total budget of those projects which meet their criteria. The two companies will launch their first productions this year with a selection of Belgian and European feature films.
