Created by Felice Laudadio and Federico Fellini and first held in the latter's home town of Rimini, EuropaCinema turns twenty this year. The landmark edition will take place in Viareggio from 20-27 September, and feature an overview of the best of recent European productions with special emphasis on the new extended EU, with a review of 20 films, 10 by well-known directors and 10 by newcomers, from as far apart as Malta, Latvia and the Czech Republic. EuropaCinema president, Luciana Castellina, is organising a major conference where filmmakers and producers from the 25 EU members will discuss the impact of the enlargement of the European Union.
