Six projects supported by the Gan Foundation
- The lucky recipients are Annarita Zambrano, Yann Le Quellec, Nicolás Buenaventura, Hubert Charuel, Patrick Zachmann, and duo Renaud Fely and Arnaud Louvet
Singling out and supporting first or second feature-length projects: this has been the mission of the Gan Foundation for Film for almost 30 years now. And of the 165 screenplays assessed for the 2015 edition, six winners have surfaced (one more than the usual number).
Among them is Après la guerre by Annarita Zambrano (which already won the Special Jury Prize at the handing-out of the Sopadin Prize for Best Screenplay – see the news – and is being backed by the CNC’s advance on receipts). For her feature debut, the Paris-based Italian director has co-written a screenplay with Delphine Agut, in which the murder of a judge reopens old political wounds between Italy and France and stirs up memories of the Years of Lead. Production is being handled by Sensito Films.

film profile] by duo Renaud Fély and Arnaud Louvet has also been selected. The title is currently being filmed (read the article), and stars Jérémie and Yannick Renier, Elio Germano, Alba Rohrwacher and Olivier Gourmet (produced by Aeternam Films).
The selection also includes Cornelius, le meunier hurlant, a feature-debut project by Yann Le Quellec, which is a loose adaptation (by the director and Gladys Marciano) of the novel of the same name by famous Finnish author Arto Paasilinna, and which is already supported by the CNC’s advance on receipts (see the news – produced by Agat Films).
The Gan Foundation for Film will also be supporting the feature debuts Kairos, le moment opportun by Nicolás Buenaventura (produced by Petit Film, executive-coproduced by Les Films du Rat, backed by the CNC through World Cinema Support) and the farming-based thriller Bloody Milk [+see also:

A Special Prize was awarded to the fascinating animated project Mister Vu by Patrick Zachmann, which is being staged by Les Films d'Ici and which was pitched at the last edition of Cartoon Movies.
The amount of aid granted per project by the Gan Foundation for Film stands at €53,000, and can be rounded out by partnerships with Panavision Alga and Mikros Image.
