Produced by Gábor Sipos and Gábor Rajna for Laokoon Filmgroup, with backing from such sources as the Hungarian Film Fund, the Cannes Film Festival’s Cinéfondation Residency, Sarajevo Cinelink and the Jerusalem Film Lab, Son of Saul has been sold all around the world by French sales agent Films Distribution. Also its country’s candidate for the upcoming Oscars, it has already been successfully distributed in Hungary (by Mozinet, garnering over 90,000 viewers so far, an exceptional score in this particular market for an arthouse film like this), France (by Ad Vitam, with its theatrical run still ongoing, standing at 186,000 admissions), Belgium, the Netherlands and Greece. It will come out in Spain on 15 January, Poland on 22 January, Italy on 27 January, Sweden on 12 February, the Czech Republic on 18 February, Norway on 19 February, Denmark on 25 February and the United Kingdom on 1 April.
