film profile] (lit. “The Lighthouse of the Orcas”) will start shooting from February in both countries, with a cast of actors drafted in from both sides of the Atlantic: Maribel Verdú, Joaquín Furriel and Gastón Pauls. It is a film adaptation (which has seen the involvement of both the author and the director, together with Lucía Puenzo and Sallua Sehk) of the novel Agustín corazón abierto, based on the true story told by Roberto Bubas, about Tristán, a ten-year-old autistic Spanish boy who is fascinated by the images he sees on television of Beto, a man who plays with whales. Lola, the mother of little Tristán, will cross the ocean so that her son can meet the orca trainer himself in the Valdes Peninsula, Patagonia: the sheer energy of nature and his interaction with the cetaceans will work miracles for the youngster.
