South Tyrol FF&C presents an opportunity for projects in development

This year, the South Tyrol Film Fund & Commission, in conjunction with the Bolzano Film Festival Bozen, is launching a new initiative called Final Touch #1: Intense Feedback from Experts. This high-level offering targeted at the sector is for filmmakers who wish to fine-tune their film or documentary in its final phase of development. They will be given the opportunity to discuss their project with an interdisciplinary pool of international experts at the first-cut stage, add the finishing touches to it and wrap it up successfully.

Three film projects will be selected, and for each of these, two members of the team will be invited to the Bolzano Film Festival Bozen (13-17 April). During a dedicated workshop at the gathering, they will receive input on both a content and an artistic level, an appraisal of the film’s market potential, and guidance on promotion and funding possibilities.

Among the experts who will be there to offer their advice are Nicolaj Nikitin, an expert in the field of festivals who, since 2002, has been a representative of the Berlinale for Eastern European and Central European films, and since 2008 has been one of the selectors for the Zurich Film Festival; Evi Romen, an expert in editing and an assistant to a number of directors, as well as working with distribution channels; Catia Rossi, who for 15 years has been a sales executive for RAI’s film catalogue, a role that she has fulfilled at all of the major film markets, and who, since October 2015, has been the managing director of the new company True Colours, co-founded by Lucky Red and Indigo Film; Josef Reidinger, whose professional field of expertise is post-production, and who is also the director of ARRI Media, which provides technical tools for cinema, ranging from construction to rentals; and lastly, two experts in production funds, namely Gabriele Röthemeyer, who can boast a long and fruitful experience in various commissions and associations (including CICAE, Filmstiftung NRW, the Berlinale, EAVE, Kuratorium Junger Deutscher Film), and Christiana Wertz, who since 2009 has headed the South Tyrol Film Fund & Commission and has therefore also been in charge of the financing section.

Registration is open until 25 February 2016. Applications are open to male and female directors from Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Slovenia (the guest countries at this edition of the Bolzano Film Festival Bozen), with first and second cinematic projects, which can be either fiction or documentary.
