Award winning Saudi Arabian director Haifaa Al-Mansour (Wadjda [+see also:

) has concluded the Irish segment of the principal photography on A Storm in the Stars and the production has now moved to Luxembourg. Written by Emma Jensen and Conor McPherson, the film tells the story of Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, author of Frankenstein, and her tempestuous relationship with the poet Percy Shelley.

Mary and Percy declare their love for each other and much to her family’s horror they elope, joined by Mary’s half sister Claire. At Lord Byron’s house at Lake Geneva the idea of Frankenstein is conceived when a challenge is put to all houseguests to write a ghost story.

). Financing is from the Irish Film Board, the British Film Institute and the Luxembourg Film Fund along with HanWay, who will also handle the films international sales. UTA Independent Film Group will co-represent the US rights with HanWay.
