The Weather Inside by Isabelle Stever

The third edition of KINO!, the New York City German Film Festival, will be featuring, from 7-14 April, titles dealing with serious issues as well as offbeat comedies, well-known directors and promising new faces, fictions and documentaries. In a nutshell, the selection committee has picked a colourful cross-section of the newest German productions.

As Mariette Rissenbeek, the managing director of German Films, explains, "A presence in the USA through a festival or theatrical release plays a very significant role in a film's international visibility and career, so it's very important for us to offer German cinema a platform in NYC and promote a greater awareness of our production amongst the local industry, the audience and the media."
