FILMS Norway

From Wolves to Tigers

- Hot on the heels of his box office hit, Ulvesommer Peder Norlund’s next project is the Euros5m Tiger, on location in Kazakhstan and the Russian Steppes

Nordisk Film has greenlighted Tiger, the new feature film to be directed by Peder Norlund.
This film is Norlund’s follow up to the surprise hit he had with Ulvesommer (Wolf Summer), which sold 210,000 tickets over a 14-week period and took over Euros1.5m at the Norwegian box office, outperforming Norwegian blockbuster, Olsenbanden jr. går under vann (The Olsen Gang Jr Under Water) by Arne Lindtner Næss. These factors combined to convince producers, Aage Auberge and Axel Helgeland to take a gamble on Norlund’s Tiger to the tune of Euros5m.
Norlund wrote the screenplay for Tiger prior to directing Wolf Summer. It is the story of a group of youngsters who survive a plane crash and in particular, the encounter between one of their number with a rare Siberian tiger. The film will be made on location in Kazakhstan and the Russian Steppes and Nordisk Film International will handle sales.
