Cannes’ China Co-Production Day unveils its programme

The China Co-Production Day will take place at the Film Market of the 69th Cannes Film Festival. Set up by Bridging the Dragon and the CNC, in partnership with the Cannes Film Market, the event will organise company meetings between selected international and Chinese film producers, as well as a panel focusing on recent developments within international co‐productions with China. The event will be held at the Espace CNC - Gray d'Albion Beach, on Friday 13 May.

The panellists that will take part are Jerry Ye, CEO of one of China’s top film groups, Huayi Brothers, Vincent Grimond, president of Wild Bunch, which recently announced the creation of the China Europe Film Fund with China Film and TV Capital, Rikke Ennis, CEO of TrustNordisk/Zentropa China and producer of the first-ever China-Denmark co-production My Best Friend Andersen (written by Chinese star writer Shu Huan), Cristiano Bortone, producer at Orisa Produzioni and director and producer of the first official Italian-Chinese-Belgian co-production, Coffee [+see also:

(read news - to be released later this year), Christopher Granier-Deferre, producer at Poisson Rouge Pictures (producer of Fox Spirit, The River Dragon Princess and co-producer of The Proving Ground, all to be developed with China), and Gregory Ouanhon, president of Fundamental Films, the Shanghai-based outfit that has a co-production and distribution output deal with Luc Besson’s Europacorp.
