09/05/2016 - The Danish international sales agent will present six new movies at the Film Market, also including Christian Tafdrup’s Parents and Aslaug Holm’s Brothers

Danish international sales boutique LevelK has signed a deal with Norwegian director Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken and his Hamar-based production shingle FilmBros to represent his new films, starting with Cave [+see also:

film profile], which is currently in post-production, and which LevelK CEO Tine Klint will launch at the Cannes Film Market.

Dahlsbakken’s first action-thriller follows a group of former military elites who set out to explore an uncharted abyss, not knowing their worst nightmare is waiting for them deep beneath the ground. It was shot on location in Norway, except for some underwater scenes in Mexico. His feature debut, Returning Home [+see also:

film profile], won the top prize at the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck in 2015.

Starring Heidi Toini, Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, Benjamin Helstad and Ingar Helge Gimle, Cave will be released domestically on 2 September by Another World Entertainment, which will also bring out the prolific director’s second feature, Late Summer [+see also:

LevelK’s Cannes line-up includes Danish writer-actor-director Christian Tafdrup’s Parents [+see also:

film profile], which was world-premiered at Tribeca and follows a middle-aged Danish couple whose son is moving away from home. Left with a feeling of needlessness, they try to rekindle the magic spark of their younger days, returning to their old student apartment where they first fell in love. With a cast including Søren Malling, Bodil Jørgensen, Elliot Crossett Hove, Miri-Ann Beuchel and Anton Honik, the movie was produced by Thomas Heinesen for Nordisk Film Production.

Klint will also be marketing Norwegian director-cinematographer Aslaug Holm’s Brothers [+see also:

film profile], a documentary about the close relationship between two brothers, Markus (14) and Lukas (11). Produced by Tore Buvarp for Fenris Film, the siblings are actually Holm’s own sons, whom she filmed over a period of eight years, “to delve into the children’s real world and discover truth and original life”. Holm won an Amanda, Norway’s national film award, for Best Director for the film.
