PRODUCTION France

Tavernier & Gillain together

by

The Belgian actress is to make her third feature film with French director Bernard Tavernier, entitled Holly Lola, scheduled to go into production in Cambogia on 15 October.
Marie Gillain starred in Tavernier's L’appât (The Bait) in 1995, followed by Laissez-passer in 2002 and they will be joined by another of Tavernier’s “pet” actors, Jacques Gamblin who won the best actor award at the 2002 Berlinale for Laissez-Passer.
Gamblin and Gillain play a couple desperate to adopt a Cambogian baby and the film is based on a real life event that was adapted by Tiffany Tavernier (the director’s daughter) who also wrote the screenplay for Ça commence aujourd’hui with her father.
Holly Lola will be produced by Little Bear with Les Films Alain Sarde, and it will be Tavernier’s 19th feature film. Despite the fact that his films are regularly lambasted by French critics, Tavernier (winner of 5 Césars and a best director award in Cannes in 1984 for L’appât) continues to attract Gallic filmgoers.
