PRIZES Germany

Becker, King of Lolas

by

- There was a record victory for Wolfgang Becker at the German equivalent of the Oscars. He won 7 Gold award. The only disappointment was for the actress Kathrin Sass who was beaten by Hannelore Eisner

The gala for the German Film Awards was held on Friday night at the Tempodrom in Berlin, and all the predictions that the sparkling comedy by Wolfgang Becker would win hands down, came true. But there was a surprise defeat for Kathrin Sass; the jury preferred to award the Best Actress prize to Hannelore Eisner, the star of Mein letzter Film. Good bye, Lenin! also won the audience awards for German Film of the Year, and Daniel Brühl was voted as the Actor of the Year.
