Scripted by the director herself, the film focuses on couple Armand and Leila. Mahmoud, Leila’s older brother, has just come back from a long trip to Yemen, something that has changed him dramatically. Learning of the romance between Armand and his sister, he decides to sequester her away, distancing her from her boyfriend. Armand is left with no choice: if he wants to gain entry to Mahmoud’s home, he will have to don the chador. The following day, a woman wearing a chador wanders the streets of Paris… A woman called Scheherazade…

Produced by Michaël Gentile for The Film, Some Like It Veiled is being co-produced with France 2 Cinéma and Mars Films (which will also be managing the film’s distribution in France), has been bought in advance by Canal+ and Ciné+, and has received an advance on receipts from the CNC.
